Sunset/Moonrise Kayak Retreats

This retreat is for meditation practitioners whose spirituality is grounded in Nature.  No kayaking experience is necessary.

We kayak in stillness and silence, before sunset on either Friday or Saturday evening, depending on weather conditions.  We practice mindful receptivity to the rhythms of nature, and the ever-changing colors of the sky and waters, until darkness. We have a campfire dinner at the beach.  Then we return to Jenner under a nearly full moon, across silvery waters.

We are an open sangha, and allow each retreat to flow organically, depending on conditions.  We begin Friday before sunset, and kayak if conditions permit.  Saturday is usually spent practicing mindfulness walking slowly along a redwood canyon to meditate on a beautiful creek, or at the beach.  Weekend includes dharma talks, dharma discussions and nature-based mindfulness practices. We end on Sunday after morning practice, metta meditation and brunch.

Food is potluck.  No cost.  Dana is appreciated.  Lodging is in house, trailers, cabins on women’s land on the Sonoma coast.  Camping is optional.

Monthly Women's Kayak retreats are currently scheduled. Kayak retreats for men and women are planned and dates will be posted.  If interested please contact us.
